Attend Summer Camp

    Delphos Boy Scout Troop 65 recently completed a week of summer camp at Camp Berry in Findlay, where they worked on merit badges for swimming, lifesaving, first aid, rowing, archery, rifle shooting, leatherwork, Indian lore, wood carving, basketry, camping, orienteering, pioneering, fishing, environmental science and many more.  Fifty-five merit badges were earned by scouts at camp.

    This year the troop had 100 percent participation with 25 members attending summer camp.  Two of the members, Josh S. and Josh O., were part of the staff and spent five weeks at camp with O. completing seven weeks.

    While at camp, the troop competed in the Catapult Contest with other troops and took first place with a throw of 84 feet.  Four members of the troop, Justin R., Keith B., B.J.K. and adult leader Doug Ditto, completed the mile swim, earning a special badge for this honor.

    The scouts will be hiking and camping in Nashville, Ind., in early August.
