Dear Editor,During Canal Days, Boy Scouts and leaders from Delphos volunteered many hours to pick up trash thrown on the streets. I would like to thank all the people who told the boys what a good job they were doing. Also thanks to the people who walked an extra 10 feet to the trash barrels and those who picked up after themselves. In addition, special thanks to the Canal Days Committee fro allowing the boys to serve the community and earn service hours toward their advancement. Also to the following: Joe Klausing, Tom Merschman, Howard Violet and Chuck Wannemacher for the use of their personal equipment such as trailers, tractors and wagons; Denny Klausing for arranging storage space for our equipment; and the Delphos EMS for donating plastic gloves. Troop 65 also raised funds through the sale of pop and water during the canal Days Parade. Thanks to all those who supported the Scouts in this effort. Whether you purchased a beverage, allowed us to use your cooler and wagon, or were out there peddling the refreshments, we truly appreciate your help. Sincerely, Les Warniment, Assistant Scoutmaster and Service Project Chairman Carl Mesker, Fundraising Chairman Boy Scout Troop 65
