A note on staying warm Layers are the key to staying warm during the winter. As you warm up through activity you can take clothes off to keep from sweating too much. Likewise, when you stop you can then add clothes to warm up again. If you get wet, either through sweating or any other way, you will get cold. You must do whatever you can to keep from getting wet.

The troop has recently purchased and issued red backpacks for day hiking. Please see Mr. Stewart if you do not have one.
Scouts wishing to take part in overnight backpack trips should also have a large backpack to fit this need. Contact Doug Stewart or Les Warniment if you would like to purchase a pack similar to what the veteran Scouts have. We have found the packs offered by Campmor meet our needs satisfactorily. The troop gets a discount by placing a group order.
